In addition, all players must follow these additional COVID-19 TOURNAMENT PROCEDURES AND RULES:

-         All players and staff must wear a mask. The mask must cover both the mouth and nose. 1st violation: 10-minute penalty; 2nd violation: forfeiture from the tournament. You may bring your own face covering and is strongly recommended due to the limited supply; ACE will provide face masks as well on request.

-         All players will undergo 2 temperature checks before being allowed into the playing hall; one before start of Round 1 and another before start of Round 3.

-         Only registered players are allowed into the playing hall --- no spectators are allowed in the playing room. One parent/guardian of a playing minor child is strongly recommended be at the playing venue. The entire 2nd floor (excluding guest rooms) is considered the playing venue and restricted to only registered players and TDs; those that are not registered players or TDs will be asked to leave.

-         No food or drinks allowed in the playing hall. There will be no water stations in the ballroom either. Players must consume their snacks outside the playing hall at one of the high-top tables, which are socially distanced at 6 feet apart.

-         Players must be able to check pairings and standings online at www.acerook.com/nybinfo . For those who do not have limited access to phone/computer, players may ask the TD on the floor to obtain the board number and color, but this is strongly discouraged for those who have the capability to lookup the pairings online before they arrive at the playing hall/board.

-         Players must use the organizer’s provided carbon-copy scoresheet to record their moves. In order to minimize crowding around a pairing board, each table will have a result slip. Players will need to fill out the result slip and leave a copy of their scoresheet at their table; TDs will pick up the result slips when all players have finished their games. Players are considered a spectator after they have finished their game and must leave the playing hall until the cleaning staff have finished their task.
