Date: One Day – Saturday, January 8, 2022

Where: Hilton Garden Inn Olathe – 12080 South Strang Line Road, Olathe, Kansas, 66062

Format: 4 rounds Swiss – Game/60 with 5 second delay (Dual-Rated); Three Sections: Open, Reserve-U1800 and Amateur-U1400 (Based on January 2022 Rating Supplement and CCA minimum rating lists)

Schedule: Saturday: Registration 8:00AM-9:30AM, Rd 1 – 10AM; Rd 2 – 12:45PM; Rd 3 – 3:30PM; Rd 4 – 5:45PM

Bye: 1 Half-point bye is offered for any round, if requested before the start of round 2.  

Registration: $42 by January 5 via online entry at https://www.acerook.com/register?event=NYB2022; $50 late/on-site entry.

For those that are K-12 students, whose entry fee do not count towards the prize fund nor are eligible for cash prizes, $22 by January 5 via online entry at https://www.acerook.com/register?event=NYB2022; $30 late/on-site entry.

(Online registration will list 6 sections but there is only 3 section – Open and Open Scholastic will merge; Reserve and Reserve Scholastic will merge; and Amateur and Amateur scholastic will merge.)

Prizes $900 based on 40 adult entries:

Open: $180 - $120 - $60

Reserve (U1800): $150 - $100 - $50

Amateur (U1400): $120 - $80 - $40

Equipment: Please bring boards, sets and clocks to the event. Limited Acerook Chess Enterprises’ equipment will be available to loan per round basis.

COVID Protocols: ACE Tournaments will follow any business, county, state or federal health mandates in effect during the tournament period. All players and staff will be required to follow these mandates, if any. Up-to-date information will be posted on the tournament website, including any health mandates or cancellation of the tournament.

As of January 6, 2022, there is no mask mandates or restrictions on mass gatherings for Johnson County, KS.
