Where: NEW LOCATION** Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Kansas City Overland Park - 12440 Blue Valley Pkwy, Overland Park, KS, 66213
When: Registration at 5:30-6:15PM; Must be registered by 6:15PM to be paired for first round. Round 1 starts 6:30PM; Rounds 2-4 start as soon as all games are finished.
What: $10 entry fee. Time control is Game 10+5. Quick-rated only Must be a current US Chess member to participate. Guaranteed at least 4 games. Arena Chess pairings (like lichess.org or chess.com pairing style)
COVID Protocols: In consideration of our scholastic K-12 chess players, everyone in the playing hall must wear a mask that completely covers their nose and mouth. All food and drinks must be consumed outside the playing hall.
Arena Chess: At the beginning of the tournament, players are paired based on their rating. As soon as you finish a game, you will then be paired with a player close to your ranking. This ensures minimum wait time, however you may not face all other players in the tournament. (In other words, round 1 pairings will be 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, etc. As soon as players are done with game, they will be paired with another player.
Other: NO Annual Club membership dues; NO spectator fee. Free Parking.
